What is the AMS Blueprint?
The AMS Blueprint is a toolkit developed by the AMR&S Working Group to help Asian hospitals develop, implement and improve antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programs.
The toolkit contains practical guides, case examples and adaptable templates for AMS program leaders and team members, as well as educational outreach materials. You can choose from the various pieces, depending on your hospital’s status and needs.
What is in the AMS Blueprint?
The AMS Blueprint is divided into four key parts:

Introduction
Brief overview of the
AMS Blueprint toolkit

AMS Lead
Guides and resources for AMS leaders

AMS Team
Guides and resources for members of the AMS Team

AMS Outreach
Outreach materials to educate other hospital personnel, patients and caregivers
How to use the AMS Blueprint

STEP 1:
Know the content and structure
Read the introduction for a brief overview of the AMS Blueprint toolkit.
STEP 2:
Assess AMS status
Use the AMS Assessment Checklist to identify AMS components that need to be addressed in your hospital.
STEP 3:
Use the toolkit to establish and/or improve a functioning AMS program
Use the practical guides and resources to establish, develop and implement a comprehensive AMS program in your hospital. If your hospital already has an existing AMS program, identify areas that could be improved and use the relevant guides and resources accordingly.
STEP 4:
Spread the word
Use the outreach materials to educate hospital personnel, patients and caregivers about AMS.
